Every conversation in a shared workspace used to open with the same paragraph: answer in this language, tasks live on that board, a note is done when it reaches this column. Now you write it once.
Instructions for AI chat
Workspace instructions. The owner sets them in Settings → Workspace → AI chat instructions, and they apply to every member's chat in the workspace. Members see the text read-only in the same place.
My AI chat instructions. Everyone can add their own in Settings → My settings. They apply only to you, in the workspace you saved them in.
The workspace wins a conflict. If the owner says "answer in French" and you say "answer in German", chat answers in French — and still follows the parts of yours that do not conflict.
Guardrails stay put. Neither layer can change how note links are written, the rules for using tools, or the confirmations those rules require. Chat still asks before moving a note to the trash.
Up to 2,000 characters each. Save an empty box to remove them. They apply from the next message you send.
A collapsed sidebar that still works
The rail is a real sidebar. Collapsed, it keeps New note, Home, Favorites, Filter, Files, Bin, Settings, and More, with each name in a tooltip.
Filter opens your Tags and property sections in a popover, and shows a dot while one of them is filtering the list.
Drag to collapse. Drag the sidebar's edge past its narrowest width and it folds into the rail; drag back out and it reopens. The gesture reverses as often as you like before you let go.
Page layout and text size
Page layout reaches every page. Contained now narrows the notes list, Files, and Import too, not only a note. A note keeps its own narrower reading width.
Text size, new: Small, Default, or Large. Headings, code, and lists scale with the text.
Editor font, text size, and page layout live in Settings → My settings and in a note's ⋯ menu, so you can try a value without leaving the note.
Smaller changes
The first breadcrumb on a note now says Home, matching the sidebar.
Worth knowing
Both sets of instructions are sent with every message, so they count toward the workspace owner's monthly chat tokens. The full reference is in AI chat instructions.
