Assistants connected to Notez over MCP, and the in-app AI chat, can now do more with a note than read and edit its body.
AI assistants and AI chat
Who added a note. Ask "who added this note?" and the assistant answers with the member, the date, and how the note arrived: in the app, from AI chat, over MCP or the API, from an import, and so on. It also knows who last edited it.
Rename notes. Assistants can change a note's title. Before, they had to tell you they couldn't.
Bring notes back from the Bin. An assistant can restore a note, and the notes trashed together with it, whether it moved them there or you did.
Links and backlinks. Ask what a note links to, or which notes link to it. Both note links in the text and relation properties count.
Notes like this one. Similar-notes search can start from a note instead of a question, to find notes about the same thing that don't link to it.
Rename tags and board columns. Deleting a tag or a column still happens in the app.
Already connected? Start a new chat so the app picks up the new tools.
Note cards
The source badge (MCP, CLI, AI and the others) now sits at the start of the title instead of taking a column of its own.
The edit and ⋯ buttons now float over the card's top-right corner when you hover, instead of keeping a strip of the card empty. Titles and previews use the full width of board and grid cards.
Fixes
Restoring an earlier version of a note now updates its links and backlinks to match the restored text.
Restoring a note whose parent is still in the Bin moves its whole branch to the top level. Notes nested under it no longer show the trashed parent in their breadcrumbs, or go back to the Bin with it.
Restoring from the Bin now counts toward your plan's note limit, and a restore that can't go through says why instead of failing silently.
A board column can no longer be renamed to the name another column on the same board already has; you see a message instead.
