v0.6.0 — Notes open in a side panel

v0.6.0New featureDenis Povarov

Opening a note no longer throws away the list you were looking at.

Side panel

  • A plain click on a note — in Grid, Table, or Board view — now opens it in a side panel over the list instead of navigating to its page. Scroll position, filters, sort, search, board columns, and multi-select all stay exactly as they were.

  • The panel is the full editor, not a preview: tags, properties, child notes, linked notes, Similar Notes, version history, and sharing all work there.

  • J and K (or ↑ ↓) step to the next and previous note in the current list order, so you can review a filtered set without going back to it each time. Hidden on the board, where columns have no single order.

  • ⌘↵, the toolbar's Open full page, or a middle-click on the card opens the note's own page as before. Cards are still real links, so "open in new tab" and "copy link address" are unchanged.

  • Esc, the ✕, browser back, or a click on the panel's left seam closes it. Esc inside the title or editor leaves that field first.

  • Drag the left seam to resize the panel between 480 and 1100 pixels. The width is remembered.

  • The open note is part of the URL (?peek=…), so it survives a reload, can be shared or bookmarked, and re-sorting or re-filtering the list keeps it open.

On screens narrower than 768 pixels, notes continue to open as a full page.

  • The sidebar now collapses to a narrow rail. Click the seam on its right edge, or press ⌘\ from anywhere.

  • The AI chat panel closes the same way — a click on its seam.

Improvement

  • The note menu now offers Restore for a note that is in the Bin, so a note opened from the Bin is no longer a dead end.

Fix

  • Editing a note with unsaved changes while sorting, filtering, or typing in search no longer interrupts you with a "Saving note…" dialog.

  • A conflicting edit from another workspace member is no longer silently discarded when you navigate away from the note.
