v0.20.0 — Reminders and a calendar

v0.20.0New featureDenis Povarov

Notes can now remind you of things. A reminder lives in the note's text, and the new Calendar page puts all of yours on one month.

Reminders

  • Type @ in a note and pick a date, or type it: @tomorrow-9am, @next-monday, @2026-12-24. The reminder shows as a chip in the text.

  • Click the chip to set a time or a repeat: daily, weekly, every weekday, monthly, yearly, or a custom rule with an end date or a number of occurrences.

  • When it comes due you get a notification with the note's title in the bell, by email if email notifications are on, and as a system notification while the Mac app is open.

  • In a shared workspace, a reminder notifies only the person who added it.

Calendar

  • Calendar sits in the sidebar between Home and Files. It shows your reminders and every date property value in the workspace, a month at a time, or as a list on a phone.

  • Click an item to open the note in the side panel, drag a one-off reminder or a date to another day (⌘Z moves it back), or use New reminder to add one without opening a note.

The @ menu

  • In the editor, @ now offers dates, people (in a shared workspace) and notes. Picking a note inserts a link to it.

  • The search box and the box a board column's Add note opens have the same menu. Your picks show as chips next to the box and land in the new note's body, and a date typed in full, like @tomorrow-9am, becomes a reminder.

  • URL capture understands it as well: notez.dev/Call Anna @tomorrow-9am saves the note with a reminder.

  • People mentioned from the search box or a board are notified, as they are from the editor.

AI chat and MCP

  • AI chat, Claude, ChatGPT and other connected apps have a new get_calendar tool. Ask "What is on my calendar this week?" or "Remind me to call Anna on Friday".

  • On the Calendar page, AI chat knows which month you are looking at and suggests questions about it.

  • Already connected? Start a new chat so the app picks up get_calendar.

Also in this release

  • Files lists only the files of the workspace you are in. It used to show your files from every workspace.

  • Shortcuts is always in the sidebar instead of under More, and the dialog now also lists what you can type: @, [[, / and the address bar.

  • The pricing page and the billing tab show prices before tax, and Upgrade to Pro and Upgrade to Ultra open the billing tab when you are signed in.

  • A new About page.

  • If your AI usage jumped past several warning levels at once, you now get one notification instead of one per level.

  • Notifications older than a year are cleared from the bell.

  • The Mac app takes signed-out visitors straight to sign-in.

  • In dark mode, a note's title no longer sits on a shaded box.

  • The privacy and terms pages are readable in dark mode.

  • The notez.dev home page shows real screenshots of the app and the pricing.
