Notez was single-user. It is not any more — a workspace can now hold a team.
Members
Invite by email — the workspace selector has a Members entry. Send an invitation and the person joins the workspace with their own account. Invitations expire after 7 days and can be revoked while pending.
Owner and member roles — members create, edit, and delete notes, manage tags, properties, and boards, and use AI chat. Renaming the workspace, deleting it, managing members, and creating API keys stay with the owner.
Seats by plan — 3 on Free, 10 on Pro, 25 on Ultra, counted per workspace against the owner's plan. The owner takes a seat, and a pending invite holds one.
Leaving — a member can leave a workspace on their own. Their notes stay behind; the notes belong to the workspace.
Notifications — you are notified when you are invited, when someone accepts, and when you are removed. Invitations arrive by email as well.
On the note
Who is here — avatars beside the save status show who else has the note open, updating every few seconds. It shows reading, not typing; there are no live cursors.
Who changed it — the save status reads Edited by {name} when the last edit was not yours.
No silent overwrites — if someone saves while you have unsaved edits, you get a banner naming them and a Reload button rather than one version quietly replacing the other. The check runs on the server at the moment of the save.
Not in this release
Deliberately: no character-by-character co-editing, no per-note permissions, no comments. Access is per workspace, and everyone in it can read everything in it.
Docs
Help Center: Sharing a workspace with other people is new. Workspaces, Sharing a note, Plans, limits, and billing, and Notifications and languages were updated — several of them said Notez was single-user, which is no longer true. Background on the thinking: Sharing without the merge conflict.
