Every feature is on every plan. Notes, tags, custom properties, boards, AI chat, semantic search, the CLI, the MCP server, imports, sharing, shared workspaces, and version history are all included on Free — the plans differ only in storage, AI allowances, and seats.
The number of notes is not limited on any plan.
Current pricing is on the pricing page, which shows the live price in your local currency.
How metering works
Three things are measured:
Storage — total bytes of uploaded files
AI chat tokens — consumed by conversations
AI embedding tokens — consumed when notes are indexed for semantic search
Token allowances reset each calendar month. Storage is a standing total, not monthly.
Check usage in Settings → Billing, which shows progress bars for Storage Usage, AI Embedding Tokens, and AI Chat Tokens, along with the reset date.
You get a notification as you approach a limit, so nothing fails silently.
What happens at a limit
Storage full — new uploads are rejected; notes still work. Imports that would exceed the limit are stopped rather than half-applied.
AI chat tokens exhausted — chat pauses until the next month or an upgrade
Embedding tokens exhausted — new notes are not indexed for semantic search until the allowance resets. Keyword search keeps working.
Seats full — new invitations are refused until you remove a member or revoke a pending invite
Members and shared workspaces
Seats are counted per workspace, against the owner's plan. The owner takes one seat, and a pending invitation holds a seat until it is accepted or revoked — so Free means you plus two other people in a given workspace.
Members do not need their own paid plan. Everything they store counts against the owner's storage and AI allowances, not their own. See Sharing a workspace with other people.
What uses embedding tokens
Mainly importing. A large Notion, Evernote or Obsidian archive indexes every note at once, which can consume a substantial share of a monthly allowance on the Free plan. Ordinary daily writing uses very little.
Upgrading, canceling, and switching
Billing is handled through Paddle in Settings → Billing.
Upgrade — checkout, then limits apply immediately
Switch plans — move between Pro and Ultra at any time
Cancel — "Your subscription has been canceled and will end at the current period end." You keep paid features until then, then move to Free
Resume — restart a canceled subscription before it lapses
If you go over after downgrading
Your notes and files are not deleted. You will be over the storage limit and unable to upload until you free space by deleting files or emptying the Bin.
Members are not removed either. If you drop below the seat count for a workspace, everyone in it keeps their access — you simply cannot send new invitations until the workspace is back under the limit.
